Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a significant initiative to support individuals who have lost their livelihoods due to the ongoing anti-encroachment drive. The Chief Minister emphasized that while the removal of encroachments is essential for improving traffic flow and public spaces, the government is committed to ensuring that ordinary citizens do not suffer as a result.

In her statement, Maryam Nawaz highlighted that small businesses, including street vendors, were severely impacted by the campaign. “We do not want to take away anyone’s livelihood,” she said. “That is why it is crucial to make alternative arrangements for those affected.”
The government is planning to provide designated spaces for the affected individuals in every city, allowing them to continue their businesses in a regulated and organized manner. The Chief Minister also noted that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had instructed immediate action to mitigate the negative impact of the anti-encroachment drive on the daily wage earners and small traders.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to both maintaining urban order and safeguarding the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.
