Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Mr Ahmad Aziz Tarar on Monday approved the remodelling of Allah-Hoo roundabout on Khayaban-i-Firdausi to address the traffic problems in the city, news sources reported. The project will cost PKR 96.036 million in total and will cover a 4-kilometre long corridor from Allah-hoo Chowk to Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

According to the details of the project, the Allah-Hoo roundabout will be replaced by a pedestrian bridge. Additionally, a 4-kilometre long corridor leading to and from the chowk will be remodelled and made signal-free while the four U-turns on the road will be remodelled and widened.
Furthermore, the approved plan has the following features:
• The three U-turns at Jagawar Chowk, Mahmood Chowk, and Ashiq Chowk will be redesigned and expanded as well.
• A U-turn will be built before Shouq Chowk to accommodate traffic coming from Faisal Town.

• The speed limit for commercial vehicles on the road will be 40 km/h, while small vehicles’ top speed will be set at 50 km/h
Moreover, The proposed project will be completed in the current year.
