Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Monday, while chairing a meeting, decided to approve gas provision for all the residents of Karak district, according to news sources.

To this effect, the meeting has issued instructions for the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to devise a feasible work plan along a proper timeline.
Moreover, the meeting also discussed matters related to the supply of gas to the entire population of KP’s gas-producing districts, the regularisation of the illegal gas connections, the security of gas pipelines and other installations, and power-related problems in Peshawar and its vicinities. Also, the SNGPL authorities were directed to fulfil all their commitments made to the residents of the Karak district.

Furthermore, the meeting decided to identify and regularise any illegal gas connections used by the local industries. The attendees were briefed about the development status of the gas supply network in Karak and Hangu. They were informed that presently PKR 9,039 million worth of the project is under development. The meeting further agreed to invest PKR 20 billion in the existing fiscal year to completely resolve the electricity-related issues on a sustainable basis.
