Karachi: The Mayor Karachi has stated that if any lease agreements existed in the surroundings of Empress Market, it stands cancelled, a news source reported. However, such tenants will be transferred to other markets of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), since the intention is not to render people jobless.
The Commissioner Karachi will form a committee that will negotiate with the tenants and come to an agreement since under the orders of the Supreme Court, all encroachments in Saddar Area are being removed, including illegal constructions in the surroundings of Empress Market.
