Karachi: Sindh Minister for Housing & Town Planning Syed Nasir Shah on Thursday announced the provincial government’s decision to demolish all illegal constructions in Karachi, a news source reported.

The minister said that the provincial government had directed the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to take strict action against illegal constructions in the city. He added that the SBCA had also issued notices to the residents of dilapidated buildings but many have refused to leave.
Shah said that the Sindh government was also going to take action against SBCA officials found involved in approving illegal constructions. He stated that the provincial government would not allow any illegal construction in the future.

Earlier, SBCA identified 422 dangerous building in Karachi. To this effect, the authority has issued notices to the residents for vacating these dilapidated buildings, the minister said.
