Lahore: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqi on Tuesday (February 28) laid the foundation stone of the Akbar Chowk flyover and underpass project, news sources reported.

The Akbar Chowk project, which will include a 700-meter-long flyover and a 540-meter-long underpass, will cost PKR 3.10 billion and is expected to be completed in four months. Once completed, the project is expected to ease traffic congestion problems on one of the most frequented roads in the city.

As per the advertisement, the underpass will have two lanes that will connect traffic coming from Faisal Town and College Road Township, while the flyover will connect traffic coming and going from Shauq Chowk and Peco Road. The project is also expected to handle over 100,000 vehicles per day and will save fuel and commute time.
