Lahore: The Akbar Chowk flyovers project might open for traffic this month as the majority of the work is completed, as reported by a news source on November 7.

According to the details, the work of girder launching, involving the fixation of girders on the pillars of both flyovers, has been successfully completed. Additionally, the asphalt work on one overhead bridge is finished, allowing the team to initiate the asphalt work on the other flyover.
The Akbar Chowk flyover and remodelling project, which commenced in May this year, aims to transform Maulana Shaukat Ali Road into a signal-free corridor. The initiative aims to enhance traffic flow at the intersection, save time and energy, and provide a hassle-free commute for travellers between Kot Lakhpat and Canal Road.

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently visited the project site to inspect the progress. He emphasised the urgency of completing the construction work and directed the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) to commence beautification and planting along the roads.
