Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar recently announced that the developmental work to repair the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) road network — which links Punjab to AJK — would be initiated soon, according to news sources. The CM made these comments during a meeting with the AJK Prime Minister (PM) Barrister Sultan Mehmood, where he added that maintenance work for the Dina-Mangla Road will also be completed in due time.

Talking to the AJK PM, CM Buzdar assured that they would soon construct the Mangla-Jatlan Canal Road. He added that he will pay a visit to Jhelum soon, and initiate steps to resolve the problems faced by the locals.
The CM also met with Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (FIEMDC) Chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq. The chairman briefed the CM about the Allama Iqbal Industrial City in Faisalabad – for which the groundbreaking is scheduled for January 3. He told CM Buzdar that various Chinese companies had signed agreements for investments in this new venture.

In response, Buzdar expressed his appreciation for the development of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Faisalabad and called Punjab a role model for all provinces with regards to attracting investments from various sources.
