Muzaffarabad: Lawmakers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday finalised a draft pertaining to the Tourism Promotion Ordinance, 2019 – a news source reported.

Secretary Tourism, Information & Information Technology (IT) Midhat Shehzad presented the draft for review during a meeting of the AJK Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Tourism.
AJK Law Minister Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, Minister for Information & Tourism Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas, members of the standing committee Abdul Majid Khan and Sardar Sagheer Chughtai, and Additional Secretary Law Razaq Ahmed Nadeem also attended the meeting.
Tourism Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas said that the proposed ordinance would help develop and promote AJK’s tourism sector, as well as facilitate investment in the tourism industry.

He informed the meeting that the AJK government is working on various community-based programmes in a bid to promote tourism. He said that these projects would be completed on a public-private partnership basis.
