Abbasi revealed that the federal government will broaden the scope of BISP Ehsaas cash assistance package due to the prevailing situation. This would involve giving the 4.5 million families – enrolled as Kafaalat beneficiaries – an extra PKR 1,000 per month, in addition to the PKR 2,000 they were already receiving. AJK accounts for 87,000 families out of these beneficiaries. The AJK government will also formulate lists of daily wage workers at the AJK industries department and share them with the federal government.
