He said that the project of Mansehra Airport has already been inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif last month, while the federal government has released funds for land acquisition. He also said that the federal government would fund the 26-kilometre-long Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway project as well.

According to government sources, the project would cost PKR 44.72 billion and be connected to the Hazara Motorway. The project is also highlighted as an important tourist road because of its location and route through forests and mountain ranges. It is important to mention that the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway project is being built under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project to better connect Pakistan’s northern routes with the main motorways. The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has already been requested by the government to approve Project Concept-1 (PC-1).
