Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that the provincial government is making all measures necessary to control smog, for which air monitoring systems have been installed in Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan, reported a news source. He revealed this information while chairing a meeting held to discuss the progress in this regard.
Sharing further details on the plans to deal with the situation, Buzdar said that a special air monitoring system has also been installed at BRB Canal to monitor the air current from India. To monitor the smog level in the province, a lab set up especially for the purpose will also be made functional this month.
The meeting members were also informed that a complete ban has been placed on burning tires, polythene bags and rubber. The meeting also decided to form a committee to monitor related affairs about the ban placed on kilns. In addition to that, the committee will also make measures to keep rate of bricks in control. Reportedly, the members of Bhatta Malkaan Association has also assured the government of complete cooperation.
