Rawalpindi: The officials concerned on Monday informed a meeting that agreements pertaining to the construction of the Daducha Dam had been finalised, according to news sources. Rawalpindi Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood presided over the session.

He directed the Revenue Department and the Small Dams Organisation to expedite work on the small dams proposed for the Rawalpindi division. The meeting also reviewed the development status of Daducha and Mahuta dams.
The commissioner was informed that work on the Daducha dam was underway following the finalization of agreements with the project contractor. As per the contract’s stipulations, the authorities concerned would provide security for the Daducha Dam construction site when needed.

As for the Mahuta Dam, the officials have revealed that the issue regarding ‘distribution of compensation amount to affectees and others is being resolved at the earliest’.
