Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) and the contractor M/s Techno-CMC-ACC consortium have signed a concession agreement, worth PKR 307 billion for the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway Project (M-6), according to news published on December 3.

As per the transaction structure approved by the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) Board, the federal government will provide PKR 9.5 billion over the construction period while the remaining cost of PKR 297.5 billion will be arranged by the private party through commercial debt and equity. It was mentioned that the third party will pay a minimum of PKR 408 billion to the NHA and estimated corporate taxes of PKR 908 billion.

Moreover, the project will be transferred to the NHA at no cost at the end of the concession period. The news source mentioned that the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project is the largest project under the PPP umbrella.
