Islamabad: The Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has announced its decision to develop an e-processing software in a bid to expedite its net-metering applications processing effort, a news source reported.
The decision was taken in a progress review meeting held on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan.

The meeting was informed that AEDB was working proactively on creating a new design and operationalisation of the online net metering processing portal, and that it will be first implemented in the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) and the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). The process would later be implemented in other distribution companies (DISCOs) across the country.

To facilitate this measure, the AEDB would organise a capacity building workshop in collaboration with the USAID’s Sustainable Energy Programme. This programme would take place in the offices of the IESCO, LESCO, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), and the K-Electric wherein representatives of the remaining DISCOs, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), as well as certified vendors and installers will be invited to attend.
