Islamabad: A ban has been placed on the advertisement of housing schemes, public gatherings and religious gatherings, as well as use of fireworks, wall chalking, and loudspeakers in the federal capital.
The ban, put in place under Section-144, prohibits the advertisement of housing societies on all mediums and also public and religious gatherings in addition to the display of banners fomenting sectarianism, wall chalking, distribution of pamphlets, use of sound systems, fireworks, and mountain digging.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat said in the notification that housing societies extort huge amounts from citizens through fraudulent and illegal advertisements, therefore, a ban has been imposed on their advertisements as well as buying and selling activities.
All restrictions will remain in place for two months and strict action will be taken against violators.
