Karachi: In order to improve the sewerage situation in the provincial capital, Karachi Water and Sanitation Board (KWSB) will add another 20 suction and high pressure jetting machines to its arsenal with the collaboration of the Government of Sindh – a news source reported.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah handed over the keys of these machines to KWSB Chairman Asadullah Khan in the presence of Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
According to details, this will raise the total of number of such machines available at KWSB’s disposal to 56. Previously, KWSB had obtained 36 machines back in 2007. These machines have been in use since the past 12 years.

The new machines function on the modern hydraulic system and are fitted with state-of-the-art instruments. Considering the requirements of the metropolis, KWSB has ordered the tanks for suction machines to have a capacity of 7,000 litres instead of 5,000 litres, and the jetting machines to have a capacity of 8,000 litres.
