Islamabad: Asian Development Bank (ADB) will grant a loan of USD 260 million to help improve Pakistan’s power transmission network, according to a news report. An agreement over this was signed by ADB Country Director Xiaohong Yang and Secretary Economic Affairs Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Jilani.
Under the agreement, the 220-kV transmission network in Sindh and Balochistan will be expanded and supervisory control, data acquisition and revenue metering system will be upgraded.
ADB Central and West Asia Department Director General Werner Liepach was also present at the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Liepach said that ADB is committed to working with Pakistan to develop a better and more resilient power transmission network.
