As per the details, the grant was authorised under Phase II. Once the project is completed, the city and its surrounding union councils will have access to 52 million more gallons of water every day. It is pertinent to note that the grants for water supply projects in Sahiwal and Sialkot under Phase-I have already been provided by the ADB.
Moreover, the Chahan Dam Water Supply project will supply 12 million gallons of water per day. The said project will be distributed to union councils including Chak Jalal Din, Dhamiyal, Lakhan, Mohri Ghazan, Garja 1, and Garja 2. The news source mentioned that under the 2nd project, a new line from Rawal Dam Treatment Plan to Rawalpindi will be constructed, which will increase the daily water supply from 6 million gallons to 28 million gallons. As a result, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) will not have to operate its own 80-90 tube wells.

Under the 3rd project, a water loop in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed will be constructed and water from Rawal Dam will be distributed through a mechanism for all the sectors of Khayaban-e-Sir Syed. According to the details, the 4th project will deliver 35 million gallons of water and research on Dadocha will be completed. The water supply network in the garrison city is overloaded and this plan carried out by ADB will end the dire water supply problems in the union councils.
