Peshawar: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) declared the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project a transparent project, as per a news report. The Peshawar High Court (PHC) had earlier asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to investigate the BRT project and submit the report by September.
This action was taken because reservations had been expressed on the feasibility study of the project. The Peshawar High Court ordered that the scope of the project had increased by 50% and couldn’t meet the completion date. The PHC then ordered further investigation.
The ADB has declared it a transparent project and the construction companies have sped up all construction activities. Reach-I will be completed by 30th August and will be operational by 5th September. Work on Reach-II and Reach-III is also underway.
