Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to engage the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for conducting a forensic audit of the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, a news source reported. As per officials, the provincial executive aims to identify the hurdles impeding the project’s completion.

This decision was made in the BRT progress review meeting held on October 16. The Peshawar Development Authority (tasked with the execution of BRT) had previously reported on the project’s slow development pace.
It was decided in the meeting that ADB would identify where the contractors, consultants, employers and engineers went wrong and fix the problematic areas.

Please note that ADB is also the major financier of the project, and as invested about PKR 68 billion in the mass transportation project.
