Muzaffargarh: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Saturday provided its approval to the issuance of PKR 10 billion for various uplift projects proposed as part of a 30-year master plan prepared for Muzaffargarh district, a news source reported on December 7.

To this effect, Muzaffargarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amjad Shoaib Tareen presided over a meeting. Officials of the both the district administration and the international financial institution were present at the occasion.
The deputy commissioner stated that the development projects were being introduced under the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme for which the authorities concerned had drafted a 30-year plan.
Under the initiative, the district administration would introduce initiatives pertaining to cleanliness, greenery, infrastructure development, parks, sewerage system, and water purification for the next 30 years.

Moreover, DC Tareen stated that the authorities concerned intended to establish a general bus stand in the area; adding that the proposed 30-year programme would create employment opportunities for the local population.
