Karachi: The City Council Land Committee Chairman Arshad Hassan has stated that action is being taken against land mafia at all levels, a news source reported. The use of welfare land for commercial purposes will not be allowed and action will be taken against the culprits.
Arshad was speaking at a meeting of Orangi Town project. The chairman also instructed the authorities to take action against the welfare organisation if they are misusing the land assigned to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Katchi Abadi Committee Chairman Saad bin Jafer stated that on the instructions of Mayor Karachi and Supreme Court-mandated water commission, a task force should be formed for this purpose.
The meeting was also briefed about the welfare organisations whose land was being misused.
