Lahore: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) recently sealed as many as 13 unauthorised housing projects in the Sialkot district, according to a news report published on November 13.

According to the details revealed, the ACE launched a massive crackdown on unauthorised housing projects in Sialkot district with the assistance of the district administration, Tehsil Council Sialkot and police personnel. During the operation, 13 private residential schemes were sealed in various areas of the district. The establishment plans to initiate legal proceedings against the owners of said housing schemes.

As per the ACE officials, these societies were being operated by several influential figures and their unlawful actions had led to losses amounting to millions of rupees to the national exchequer. It was highlighted that the owners included additional land to their schemes after the approval of first maps and sold out amenity plots that were specified for the development of parks, graveyards etc. The department assured that a thorough investigation of the matter will be executed to bring those involved to face the consequences of their actions.
