Sargodha: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Regional Director Babar Rehman recently announced the department’s successful retrieval of over 1,200 kanals of state land from the local land mafia in several districts of Punjab, a news source reported. He further stated that the officials concerned had recovered PKR 5 million from the culprits and arrested 13 proclaimed offenders during the last three months.
He said that the ACE had retrieved commercial and agricultural land worth PKR 1.86 billion from land grabbers in Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, and Khushab districts. He added that the department had recovered PKR 1.8 million from defaulters of various government departments.

The regional director also revealed that the ACE received 807 complaints concerning land frauds in the last three months – out of which it addressed 647, while 340 had remained pending.

Rehman said that as per a road map formulated by the ACE Punjab Director Gohar Nafees, under the direct insistence of the provincial government, the authority had apprehended 13 proclaimed offenders and recovered PKR 3.2 million from them.
