Sargodha: The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) recovered 9,470 kanals of land in Sargodha division during 2018, a news source reported. Additionally, a sum of more than PKR 11 billion was retrieved. ACE also took action against six proclaimed offenders.

ACE Regional Director Asim Raza informed that the department had received 1,898 applications from all four districts of the division. These included Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, and Khushab. He added that applications included complaints against the local government, revenue department, police, and education department.
During 2018, ACE conducted 617 general and 417 departmental inquiries. 176 cases were also registered, along with action being taken against fake applications. An operation was launched against the land mafia, which impacted several influential individuals. This led to the recovery of 9,470 kanals of state land, including 65 shops worth PKR 10 billion.

A further PKR 62 billion was retrieved through inquiries conducted for TMA map fees, fake property transfers, and development schemes. A figure of more than PKR 3 million from this sum was returned to the complainants.
Additionally, 31 people were arrested by ACE, and a sum of around PKR 0.5 million seized.
