Gujranwala: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has recovered over PKR 2 billion in terms of building and commercial fees, along with dues from the owners of defaulting housing schemes within the city – a new source reported.

ACE Regional Director Sheikh Farid said that the department recovered the said amount during the first five weeks of 2019. He said that this measure had been aimed at increasing the department’s revenue.
ACE previously notified the owners of the societies and commercial plazas concerned of its plans. Resultantly, the officials recovered PKR 2.87 from Gujranwala district, PKR 810 million from Gujrat, PKR 102 million from Sialkot, PKR 9.6 million from Hafizabad, PKR 10.6 million from Narowal, and PKR 120 million from Mandi Bahauddin.
In a similar effort, the ACE teams managed to retrieve state land from illegal occupants.

Meanwhile, the provincial agency has recovered PKR 16 million from owners of commercial outlets in Rahim Yar Khan. ACE Deputy Director Syed Ayub Bukhari expressed his views on the matter.
