The regional director had been informed that some shopkeepers had forcefully occupied parking spaces in front of their shops in Ghala Mandi. This land is owned by Housing Department Joharabad, and has not been authorized for such usage.
As a result, the director ordered an investigation into the matter. This effort was overseen by ACE Khushab Circle Officer Atif Shaukat. Records were perused during the proceedings. The on-ground situation was also checked.
The investigation found that encroachers had taken over 44 marlas of the municipal corporation’s commercial land. The investigators were then instructed to clear these landholdings. The retrieved land was handed over to the district administration – following repossession.
