Faisalabad: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab recently launched an investigation into the allegations that an official of the Pakistan Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) had authorized the construction of illegal buildings in the city, a news source reported. As per the publication, ACE has initiated their enquiries by directing PHATA to submit data on all illegal buildings in Faisalabad.

As per the news report, the ACE had received complaints against developers carrying out construction activities on their respective projects without first getting an approval for their building plans. Sources claim that the building plans submitted by the developers weren’t processed through the officially communicated channels.

Citizens also reported that they registered complaints against such projects with PHATA but no action was taken. ACE has now announced that it will take action against the PHATA employees who assisted the property developers in their attempts to continue with illegal construction work in the city.
