Karachi: The Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has welcomed the government’s decision to appoint Shabbar Zaidi as the new chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
ABAD Chairman Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi expressed the hope that the new FBR chief would introduce policies aimed at solving the problems of the business community.

He said that the decision will have a positive impact on revenue generation as Zaidi is a tax expert and chartered accountant known for encouraging best practices.
Moreover, the ABAD chief stressed the need to increase the tax base and increase revenue collection by launching the proposed tax amnesty scheme on an immediate basis.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has congratulated Shabbar Zaidi on his appointment as the new chief of the revenue board.
FPCCI President Daroo Khan Achakzai said that Zaidi is well-versed in Pakistan’s tax laws, fiscal strategy, corporate regulation, and dynamics governing foreign exchange.
