Quetta: Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) Senior Vice Chairman (VC) Muhammad Hanif Memon said that the members of the association are keen on playing their role in the development of Gwadar, a news source reported on January 7. The vice chairman expressed these views during a meeting held with Gwadar Development Authority Director (GDA) Director General (DG) Mujibur Rehman Qambarani at ABAD House in Quetta.
The meeting was attended by ABAD Vice Chairman Altaf Kantawala, Former Chairmen Arif Jeewa and Junaid Ashraf Taloo, Chairman Southern Region Sufian Adhia, Gwadar Town Planning Director Shahid Ali and other notable officials.

Addressing the meeting members, GDA DG Qambarani said that ABAD can play a pivotal role in the development of Gwadar. ‘Gwadar Master Plan has been approved and all problems regarding the NOC issuance will be resolved soon’, he said.
The DG further mentioned that while the security situation in the city has improved, problems being faced by the builders and developers will also be addressed on a priority basis. Qambarani revealed that Gwadar Investment Conference will be organised soon.
ABAD VC Memon said that the development of Gwadar Port is part of Balochistan’s development and the association is keen on playing its part for the same. He requested the GDA DG to address developers’ concerns regarding issuance of NOC, clearance of the land title and installation of a one-window facility for this purpose.

Memon mentioned that various members of ABAD had purchased land in the city and procured their NOCs following the proper channel but these NOCs were later cancelled due to land title issues. He informed the GDA DG that once these issues are addressed, ABAD members could play their active role in the development of Gwadar.
