Mansehra: In an effort to combat pollution and protect the environment, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department has planted 8.4 million saplings, from a total of 14 million, in Hazara – a news source reported. These saplings are intended to be planted by the end of June of this year, in the upper parts of Hazara.
For the conservation of the Upper Hazara Forests, the Conservator, Mohammad Shoaib maintained that there are plans to plant 14 million saplings in Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, and Kolai-Palas, as well as the Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan areas; with up to 60% of the undertaking already having been accomplished.

He further added that the government’s flagship ‘10 Billion Tree Tsunami’ project aims to check pollution and conserve the environment for the present and future generations.
He also mentioned the number and area names of the sapling plantations: 1.27 million saplings will be planted in Torghar district, two million in Battagram, and 1.5 million in Agror Tanawal.

These developments come as part of the initiative to plant 13.5 million trees across Pakistan, with the goal of tackling global warming and countering environmental pollution levels through tree plantations.
