Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday (August 4) announced the completion of the 7th Avenue Interchange project by the month’s end, news sources reported. The project will be open to traffic two months ahead of its scheduled time.

Reportedly, during a visit to the construction site of the 7th Avenue Interchange project, CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmad received a briefing on the ongoing development work on various projects. He was informed that the interchange project has entered the completion stages, and in a few days, the underpass constructed on Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy Road connecting to 7th Avenue would also be completed. Moreover, grading and casting work has been completed on Srinagar Highway, adjacent to the 7th Avenue Interchange, while work on removing the culvert framework is also in progress. Similarly, fixing slab steel on side wall panels is also in progress. The chairman asked authorities to maintain the quality of work without compromising on the compilation deadline.

It is important to note that the National Logistic Cell (NLC) won the project contract for the 7th Avenue Interchange. As per Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the interchange will connect Srinagar Highway, Khayaban-e-Soharwardi and Garden Avenue near Aabpara in the capital city.
