Islamabad: The National Logistics Cell (NLC) has started pile testing work at the 7th Avenue Interchange project after which formal construction work will begin, media sources reported on August 15.

According to a Capital Development Authority (CDA) engineer, the pile testing is part of the project to check its load-bearing capacity. The text takes a few weeks to complete, after which work on other parts of the project will begin, he added.
The CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed disclosed that after pile testing, NLC will work on the digging and construction process. The 7th Avenue interchange will resolve the problem of traffic congestion in the area and provide relief to the citizens and commuters.
As per the details shared by CDA officials, the interchange will be constructed at the junction of 7th Avenue, Garden Avenue, Khayaban-i-Soharwardi, and Srinagar Highway near Aabpara. The said project will be a cloverleaf interchange with four right and left loops and an underpass to connect both the parts of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi.

According to the CDA engineer, it is expected that NLC will complete the project within a year. Moreover, it was informed that a traffic diversion plan has been devised to avoid any inconvenience for the motorists.
