Mingora: A 60-day ban has been imposed on all types of renovation and development activities on the banks of River Swat as per Section 144, according to news sources. It was reported that those who violate the rule will be indicted according to Section 188 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The district magistrate issued an order under the River Protection Act 2014 prohibiting any type of development or renovation within a 200-foot perimeter of the Swat River’s banks.
Furthermore, it was mentioned in the directives of the district magistrate that there had been allegations of unlawful building activities near the Swat River. As a result, the surrounding region is expected to suffer. To counteract the adverse effects on local ecology, a ban was enforced on the district.

Previously, the Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan took notice of illegal construction being carried out in the forests of Makhnial area. In the meeting, it was decided to carry out proper classification and demarcation of Makhnial forests within three months, until then a similar construction ban was imposed in the area.
