Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) on Friday received a briefing on the establishment of 50,000 new utility stores across Pakistan for the provision affordable essentials, a news source reported. To this effect, Minister for Communication & Postal Services Murad Saeed said that the youth could also apply for loan in order to set up utility stores under the government’s Kamyab Jawan Programme.

Saeed informed the NA session that the incumbent government had taken several necessary measures to control undue increase in prices of edible and common-use items. He added that these initiatives would ensure that the masses do not suffer from inflationary pressure.
The minister further revealed that the inflation had declined from 14.6% in January to 8.6% in June. He explained that this was possible due to the government’s proactive policies and administrative measures.

The NA session also featured briefings on increase in exports and loans for small farmers. Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Zain Qureshi revealed that the Bank of Khyber was providing loans to farmers in merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) .He added that the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) network would also provide loans in the merged districts following the compilation of land records.
