Karachi: The Sindh Minister for Local Government, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Saeed Ghani on Thursday directed department officials to install filtration plants in 4,000 schools across the province.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting which was held to review the performance of Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Department (RDD).

The officials concerned gave briefings on water supply, sewerage, RO plants, rural roads and other development schemes. They were asked to complete these development projects on an immediate basis.

Moreover, the minister directed the authorities concerned to repair 400 out of the 2,222 RO plants in the province. He also sought a report to this effect by the end of this month.

Minister Ghani asked the RDD Director-General to expedite work on the pending rural development programmes.
