Lahore: During the current year, Excise & Taxation Department collected a total of PKR 7.5 million in luxury taxes and PKR 9 million in entertainment taxes, a news source reported. The department has increased efforts to recover luxury tax from houses sized 2 kanals or more.
The department also warned that in case luxury tax is not paid, it can result in E&T department sealing the houses. The department has decided not to impose any more tax theatres and has sent recommendation to impose 5%-20% entertainment tax on cinemas to the provincial government.
