Islamabad: Three foreign airlines from Syria, Turkey, and Azerbaijan are interested in starting flight operations in Pakistan, a news source reported. As per the publication, Aviation Secretary and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Board Chairman Hassan Nasir Jamy said that the aviation industry in Pakistan proved attractive to foreign aviation companies as one million fresh passengers entered the market annually.

The Aviation secretary met the Emirates Vice President (VP) Mohammad Sarhan and told him that Shamwing from Syria, Pegasus from Turkey and Azal from Azerbaijan are keen to begin their flight operations in Pakistan.

He informed the VP that the National Aviation Policy 2019 has created ease for conducting business within Pakistan and the government has proposed several incentives last year to aircraft assembling industry and airline operators to boost inbound tourism. Jamy mentioned the example of Gerry’s Dnata which is opening its cargo handling services in Karachi.

The CAA board chairman further informed Sarhan that the aviation division has kept passenger facilitation as its top priority and the CAA has also planned to set up E gates in seven major airports within the country. In response, Sarhan said that Emirates would improve its relation with CAA and increase cooperation.
