Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) recently conducted a joint raid during which they retrieved approximately 1,600 kanals of forest land from the local land mafia in Malpur Village, a news source reported on December 7.

According to the details revealed, the anti-encroachment operation was conducted on the directives of CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed who had ordered stern action against encroachers and land mafias operating in the capital city.
Director General Enforcement (CDA) supervised the proceedings. Officials of both the CDA and the ICTA were present at the occasion. The teams mobilized heavy machinery during said operation against encroachments.

According to reports, the officials faced resistance from the land mafia but managed to successfully retrieve huge chunks of land from illegal occupants. The authorities concerned also filed reports with the local police department against the aggressors involved in the resistance.
