Quetta: The local administrations have retrieved 1,500 acres of government land worth hundreds of millions of rupees in Balochistan, according to a news report. These administrations initiated the retrieval process on the special directives issues by Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan. The retrieved land was under the illegal occupation of land mafia.

The local administrations carried out a special campaign encroachment. They were successful in retrieving the government land in the following areas:
- 19 acres in Quetta
- 4 acres in Sibi
- 8 acres in Zhob
- 33 acres in Drakhshan division
- 59 acres in Makran district
- Over 4.5 acres in Nasirabad
- Over 3.4 acres in Kalat

This added up to an overall 1,500 acres of residential, commercial, and agricultural land retrieved in the province. The authorities have estimated the retrieved land’s total cost to be worth hundreds of millions of rupees in the market.
