Lahore: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, announced that 15 new factories will be established in Quaid-i-Azam Business Park, Sheikhupura, within the next two months. Additionally, a Garment City is being developed on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, aimed at accommodating Chinese textile industries shifting to Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference at the DGPR Office, the minister shared progress on the industrial sector, highlighting that 90% of the security wall surrounding the 9,000-acre industrial estates in Faisalabad has been completed under FIEDMC. The remaining work is expected to finish within the next two months.
Strict Measures to Promote Industrial Growth
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain emphasized that the government has halted real estate trading within industrial estates, ensuring that land is solely used for manufacturing. Plots allotted for industrial purposes but left undeveloped for more than two years are now being canceled under the government’s policy.
