Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has granted its approval to the development of 13 small dams in the Rawalpindi Division, a news source reported. According to details, these water schemes are expected to be completed at a cost of PKR 22.85 billion, whilefoundation stone for Dadocha Dam will be laid in three months.

Out of these dams, five are expected to be constructed in Rawalpindi District, four in Chakwal, three in Attock, and one in Jhelum District. According to reports, development work on four dams is already underway and this initiative is scheduled for completion within a time frame of two to three years.

As per the information shared by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, work on Chahan Dam, Rawalpindi is almost complete. Other dams in Rawalpindi District include Papin Dam in Chak Beli Khan, Mujahid Dam in Chountra and Mohata Dam in Raika Union Council.

Additional dams to be constructed are:
- Mehraser Dam, Dharabi Dam, Taman Dam and Gabar Dam in Chakwal
- Sora Dam, Bara Dam and Sandrial Dam in Attock
- Pindori Dam in Jhelum
