Peshawar: Peshawar Cant Magistrate Qurat-ul-Ain Wazir ordered to arrest 11 several shopkeepers on accounts of littering the market area and encroaching the state land, a news source reported. She paid a visit to Saddar yesterday (December 19).

The magistrate inspected shops, hotels and bakeries near Fawara Chowk. She inspected the cleanliness in the area, checked the plastic bags, expiry dates on the food items, hygiene situation in the bakeries and encroachment situation.

In addition to ordering the arrest of these 11 shop owners, the magistrate also asked the staff to remove temporary encroachment and warned the shopkeepers to refrain from challenging the government’s writ by re-encroaching the state land.

The on-going operation against encroachment in Peshawar is meant to ease traffic flow and keep the pathways clear for pedestrians.
