Previously, the 9th JCC meeting took place in November 2019, while the 10th meeting has seen delays of 4 months. The delay has reportedly been due to certain differences over finalisation of the agenda for ML-1 project, China’s financial commitments in Gwadar, and the roadmap for industrial cooperation.
The last three JCC which were held every year since 2017 but no approval for any new projects was issued during these meeting. These meetings mainly focused on the completion and development of the existing and ongoing projects, including the development of more special economic zones.
Furthermore, the ambassador also said that the active projects are focused on helping Pakistan transform its economy and usher in a new era of urbanisation, digitisation and industrialisation.
