Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated a 100-kilowatt solar power project at Kidney Hill Park, according to news published on October 21.

During the inauguration ceremony, the administrator mentioned that KMC is focused on promoting green energy in the city. He stated that in the first phase, solar panels will be installed at Kidney Hill Park to produce 100KW of electricity. The administrator added that the solar panels will start working to generate electricity. This initiative will help reduce the expense of KMC, he added.

He termed this initiative as an important milestone for a greener and cleaner Karachi. Administrator Wahab mentioned that by establishing urban forests in Clifton and other places, the administration has proved that Karachi can be greener. He went on to say that Kidney Hill is a lush and beautiful place that covers an area of 62 acres, where 1.5 million have been planted.
