Lahore: The Punjab government recently inaugurated a 1000-bed field hospital at Expo Centre Lahore, developed in a record nine days, a news source reported.
As per the publication, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar further directed the release of PKR 620 million for setting up 8 new labs to diagnose COVID-19 cases in the province.

CM Buzdar and Chief Secretary Azam Suleman paid a visit to the field hospital at Expo Centre in Johar Town on Wednesday, and observed the facilities and mechanisms arranged for the novel coronavirus patients.

Buzdar appreciated the feat of establishing the hospital in such a short period. He informed that doctors and paramedics were trained in several districts to deal with coronavirus patients.

Recently, the CM also launched the Insaf Imdad Package under which PKR 10 billion funds will be disbursed among 0.25 million deserving families — with each family getting PKR 4000. In addition to the Insaf Imdad Package, Buzdar said that PKR 870 million worth Zakat funds had also been released to assist 0.170 million needy families.
