In most forums like this, when people post about a property they do not list the asking price. Similarly in newspaper classified the demand is not mentioned in lot of case. The only reason i can think of is that if they list a price which is too high, people will comment and everyone would know the real price. They wait for someone who is not aware of the market and try to sell at an exhorbitant price. Any comments?
Well, it is not just the price, people also hide the plot number, because they believe that listing a property invites realtors to play game. So they want a clean sale at a good price without this property being circulated in realtor’s circle.
The reasons for hiding the plot number is very simple.
1) If the property number is disclosed the chain of property dealers in a deal will be disrupted if there are more than one or two involved.
2) People tend to maintain data from various sources thus giving out the owners information which means that the real estate agent who has a prospective client will get direct with the property's owner and thus cutting out the role of the seller's agent.
