Wants to be filer

Dear brothers, i need suggestion how i can be filer. Do i need lawyer if yes can anyone suggest me good lawyer in islamabad.

Thanks

You can visit FBR office with ID card and any proof of income. They'll file for you. Staff there is unbelievably nice and they'll just enter some bullll-shiittt numbers to fill the forms belly.

However, If you are someone important and thinks your taxes will be scrutinized in future than hire a consultant and file through them for accurate numbers.

It doesn't cost much as too many CA/ICMA students are wondering around un-employed in Pakistan.

Thank you brother I will pay visit to FBR whenever I go to Pakistan.

FBR website has option to fill tax return form. Anyone can go there, can create his account and then can fill return. Once it is submitted you are a filler. If you are a saleried person then it is very simple. Your pay slip of June will tell you how much tax your employer/company deducted. If not you can ask your accounts department. That tax paid figure and total annual income need to enter in those forms online. You will be able to submitt that.

If you hire a lawyer or go to FBR office then after creating your account, keep password of your account with you. And if you told it to anybody then after form get filled, you should change it.

Very useful thread. How an overseas pakistani become a filer?

Non-resident Pakistani are not required to file as they suppose to file taxes in their country of residence. But if for some reason you still want to file, it is pretty easy. File it online yourself or ask a tax consultant to do it on your behalf while you are abroad.

I tried online but I failed to do so. Dear Imran where to get this tax consultant, sorry I am overseas Pakistani not aware of it.

You can do yourself easily. I did same without anyone help

1) Register at https://iris.fbr.gov.pk/infosys/public/txplogin.xhtml

you should have active Pakistan mobile sim. During registration you will FBR code via email and sms.

2) After login at submit your assets in 116(2) (Statement of Assets / Liabilities filed voluntarily)

3) Submit 114(1) (Return of Income filed voluntarily for complete year) by setting Residence Status non-resident in Attribute Tab

you can email FBR for help

Salam,

I am in similar situation (living abroad for past few years but will return soon) and would like to know the following for becoming the filer:

1). Do I need to declare only income for the last/this year or all for the past 5-10 years.

2). Do i need any documents e.g., salary slips or income proof or tax declaration from abroad?

3). I have a few plots purchased during this period, do i need to mention their current value and also the bank statements etc showing the remittences for purchasing them?

4). Also, the assets that I purchased before I went abroad, should i declare them also and will I need a proof for showing their source of income ?

5). Is it better to show all your assets and also correctly value them according to the market value or better to undervalue them? I think there is no wealth tax right? but is there any chance that you can be taxed further for your assets later?

Thanks alot in advance if someone can please answer.
