I'm posting this regarding world trade center in islamabad dha phase-2. Wtc is not owned by dha, but a dubai company and in partnership with dha for wtc. I bought a shop with last payment still due, and it has been delaying possession for many years. Is there any victim of wtc management's bad attitude and not giving possession of a shop? Please post if anyone is victim.
Every one who invested with Al ghurair giga in their commercial or residential projects, is victim. I invested in defence tower 1 in 2014 but its progress is still negligible and seems years away from possession…
Dear Younus, to my knowledge, Alghurair Giga has completely changed the maps of shops on two floors and all shops have been dissolved into much bigger shops. The builder has made a shared ownership arrangement and taken shops from owners on a flat rental on 10 years contract. They have launched “Giga mall” which is already thriving. Those who did not agree on this arrangement have been asked to wait till June, after which the builder has promised to settle them separately. How, only God knows better. You must visit their office and let us know how it went. Also continue efforts to build an affectee’s community. A whatsapp group would be appropriate.
@ Isloo1, My brother has been constantly going to Al Gurair Giga office for last 2 months. They told that they would hand over shop in June but last week they postponed to next quarter, the reason being they going through lease agreements. The rent they were offering was very low, which was not acceptable.
Whatsapp is good advice.
Is there any forum in Pakistan, where complaint can be lodged against Al Ghurair giga or not???
Younus and 123, the best approach would be to create an affectees forum, visit Al Ghurair in group to build pressure and keep insisting on taking possession. They can not deny it and can not afford 100 people going to court against their signature project.
They have other projects in pipeline that will get affected. So do not loose hope and gather people for joint action.
Is therre any fire incident in the giga project in islamabad?? i have heard there is fire in world trade center two weeks back

Yes, I heard that one of the generators caught fire. Don’t know the extent of damage.
Does anyone know the prices of shops in giga mall or where to find them?

Naveed, what happened, can you share your experience here?
Actually, we have invested in a shop on the 2nd Floor in the GIGA Mall. However, after completion, they leased the shop on their own terms and provided us the lease contract, without our knowledge of any details.
They have given us the only option to have a shop on the top floor, not the same for which we paid for 4 years.
The irony is that we can neither cancel the lease contract nor modify the lease contract for the rest of our lives.
We don't know, for how much they have rented the shop, we just receive a fixed amount of Rs.23500/- per month as a rant.
Now due to covid19, they have even stopped the rent from the month of March till June 2020 under the pretext of covid19 business lockdown. Now they sent us another letter which states that due to covid19, all the rents are reduced to half of its original amount.
Do we have any other victim of the same atrocities by GIGA mall authorities so that we can protest in court of law.

When big names such as Giga doing these malpractices, who else could be blamed?
The best bet may be, if possible, do your own commercial or residentials in hot areas of any established townships.
Beleive me it is not as difficult as we conceive before making decisions.
I am the least intelligent person at this forum, education only up to 12th. Not best in managing things but With The Blessing Of Allah, going through successes, Al Hamdolillah.
There are good people, too, in this business who can make JVs with full honesty. Do you hard work and find them.
With honest start, you can get good returns both on residentials and commercials. But location, location and location!
AQ sb, but i doubt any shop in Giga with 25k rent. I was curious to know on Mr. Naveed post.
They already delivered many projects, they have three towers in Dubai, doing well.
Naveed, it seems you've already accepted their offer and signed 10 year lease at the rate they offered. So the only option left is the legal course on the grounds that they've defaulted on rent.
Contact other shop owners as most have the same arrangement as yours and move the case against them and notice to cancel the lease.
Sohail: yes, however absured it may sound, this is the reality. They signed this rate with owners for 10 years. Sounds like bonded-labour of medieval times. Is ko kehtay hein, tabdeeli... :)
I wanted to invest in amazon project (G-11 Hotel) and later changed my mind after carefully reading their legal agreement, where i was only a silent partner with no powers at all.
Amazon have total powers to give that whole project to any third party, who do whatever they want and rent also seems debatable and investor have only option that is to admit whatever done to him.
Still i am curious that how come giga mall give a 23500 Rupees rent? What was the original payment made to them?
